Pastor

Darren Jones is our Pastor, having joined us in September 2011 from Hoylake Evangelical Church where he was a member, deacon and elder during his 11 years there.
This is Darren’s first pastorate after 22 years of various management and specialist roles in a number of companies such as Vodafone and Barclaycard. You can read about his employment history on LinkedIn.com, or see what he’s up to now on Facebook.
Darren is married to Julia and they have 3 grown-up sons.
Elders

David Friery has been an elder of the church since May 2026.
With many years of church work, preaching, and leadership already behind him, David also has a Certificate in Independent Church Ministry.
He’s married to Alison and is dad to two adult sons, Daniel and Ben.

Graham Worthington has been an elder of the church since May 2026.
You’ll often see Graham leading services or playing guitar at the front of church.
He’s married to Katie and they have a son and a daughter.

Stephen Buchanan is another elder appointed in May 2026.
Stephen has enjoyed two years of the North West Gospel Partnership’s Ministry Training Course. He’s planning on serving as a Ministry Apprentice in the AT3 (Alliance for Transatlantic Theological Training) programme.

Stephen is married to Lara.
Deacons

Trevor Jones has been our Church Secretary since May 2024.
Trevor has significant experience of church and charity organisations both financially and operationally.
He is married to Tracey, and they have two adult daughters and a son.

Neil O’Brien is also one of our deacons and is married to Mary. Neil is our treasurer.
Mary O’Brien leads Tots, our Baby & Toddler Stay & Play group.
They have three adult daughters.


Rod Breeze is well-known around Bromborough and is another of our deacons. He looks after all our building maintenance.
Rod is married to Val and they have a son and a daughter.
We’re an independent church, though we are active members of the Wirral Gospel Partnership. We also support a number of missionary organisations, such as Maritime Christian Ministries in Merseyside, the Slavic Gospel Association, SAT-7, and others.
