We very much enjoyed our recent baptism service.
A baptism is always a remarkable and exciting spectacle. It’s an opportunity for someone to make a public declaration that they’re a Christian. It doesn’t make anyone a Christian, but rather is a statement of how we have already become one.
A person goes down into the water as a kind of ‘burial’ – essentially dead to the old self.
Then they rise, just as Christ rose from the dead, signifying new life – a life lived for God.

After the baptism service, we had a light bring-and-share lunch afterwards too, and it was lovely to spend time together sharing food and company.
